Alastair James Wake


Date of Birth: 6th May 1988

Currently finishing my third year of study of Architecture at Manchester School of Architecture and seeking Part One work experience.

Developed skills in various processes of design including sketching, physical model making, Auto-CAD, Photoshop, Sketch-up, Final Cut Pro and Adobe In-Design.

Major elements:
Year 1- design of a small work studio, 3 rooms and the design of a canal house in Amsterdam. Design month- analysis of 'The Green Building', Macintosh Village, Manchester
Year 2- design of a flamenco school in Barcelona and a Sure Start Centre in Manchester. Design month- Design for humanity- design of a relief shelter. Technology special study- River and Rowing Museum, Henley - David Chipperfield architects.
Year 3 - Final year module choice: Brand:Unplanned:Demand. This examines how architecture can exist beyond the built form. Final Year Project: design of a hybrid water transport interchange and kayak training centre. Technology special study- Ferrari Research and Development Centre, Maranello, Massimiliano - Fuksas Architects.
